What’s Your Position?
How are you holding up?
What is weighing on you?
Are you being pulled in so many directions?
Do you feel supported?
Have you recently changed directions and feeling unsettled, unmoored or anxious?
Where or what are you resisting?
Is your head on straight?
Are you feeling off kilter, off balance and not so stable?
Are you feeling centered and aligned and able to withstand the forces surrounding you?
Are you in pain and suffering and unsure of how to relieve it?
Do you feel life you just can't catch your breath?
Were you just in your head pondering the answers?
Now answer the questions from your body. What would your body say? Close your eyes-go within. Think of your joints, muscles, nerves/nervous system and your fascia. Imagine the parts. What would they say to these questions.
Is your spine, your hips and shoulders supported? Are you aligned and centered or shifted, scrunched and rotated?
Is head compressed or activated and lifted? Is your head on straight??
Are you feeling weak or are you in pain?
Are you using your muscles to support your bones or resting on your bones and compressing your joints?
Are you self medicating for some temporary relief?
Can you breathe deeply? Can you exhale twice as long as you inhale?
Congrats if you did this little check-in. That means you were out of your head for a bit! We ALL need a bit of that as life is and will continue to be a series of forces that can compress and depress us and cause us to feel imbalanced.
Balancing the body can calm the mind, relieve pain and expand our freedom of movement.
Try this when you check in with yourself-as many times a day as you can. Move, reach, step, sit, stand or lie in the opposite direction and notice how different it feels. Change your patterns. Expand your choices. The body (and the mind) are made to move in so many ways. One could say infinite ways.
Add in some elements-nature, heat, ice, wind, music, dance/movement everyday for a more balanced approach to life.
Don't wait for the gym or exercise class because Life Is The Exercise!
Expand yourself. Align yourself. Breathe more life into yourself as you travel through time, one moment at a time.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
